Guided by its mission, "Building pride in and admiration for Japan through soba," the company shares soba culture in Japan and around the world through film, music, and experiences, while building ways to return the value it creates to growers and soba restaurants.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Shogo Kuwaoka serves as Representative Director and CEO, and Genica's own CEO, Yutaka Sato, serves as Representative Director and COO. Mummy-D (RHYMESTER) and 716 (MIDICRONICA) join as Directors.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>The name "ZUZUZU" comes from the sound of slurping soba. In some countries and cultures, slurping is considered bad manners, but in Japan it has long been understood as a sign of appreciation. ZUZUZU sets out to share that culture with the world openly and with pride.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>At the same time, around 70% of the soba supplied in Japan is imported (Source: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, "Current Situation of Soba," as of July 2026). By shining a light on soba culture and the people who sustain it, ZUZUZU also aims to address this reality.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>■ Documentary Series "Slurp the Soba Culture"\u003C/p>\u003Cp>Episode 1, "Sowing the Soba," is now available on the ZUZUZU_SOBA YouTube channel. Filmed in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture, with the cooperation of Takeo Saito of Saito Farm, the episode documents the sowing of soba seeds.
